Product selection
Choosing Quartz Surfaces
Choose the right surface
Compare quartz colours and patterns using the actual slab where possible. Discuss worktops, splashbacks and any other proposed use. Confirm whether the exact product is approved for outdoor, heat-exposed or special applications.
Plan fabrication
Bring cabinet dimensions, sink and appliance details. Agree seams, edge profiles, cut-outs and overhangs with a qualified fabricator before ordering. Include supports and installation access in the quotation.
Installation
Installing Quartz Surfaces
Use a qualified fabricator
The slab needs appropriate handling, cabinet support and product-specific details around openings and overhangs. Confirm the layout and seam positions before cutting. Stone processing requires professional dust controls; avoid improvised cutting on site.
Check the handover
Inspect level, support, seams and edges. Have sink and appliance connections completed by appropriate trades. Observe the recommended curing time for bonding and joint materials before loading or using the surface.
Maintenance
Maintaining Quartz Surfaces
Wipe after use
Use a soft cloth with mild cleaner suitable for the quartz surface. Rinse away residue and dry where needed. Remove spills promptly instead of allowing them to harden.
Choose stain treatment carefully
Do not scrape with sharp metal tools or experiment with strong chemicals. For stubborn marks, use the product's approved method and test discreetly. Different finishes can respond differently to cleaning.
Care
Caring for Quartz Surfaces
Protect the worktop
Use a cutting board and a heat-safe trivet beneath hot cookware. Avoid impacts at edges and cut-outs. Do not stand or sit on unsupported sections of the surface.
Avoid unnecessary treatments
Do not apply sealers, wax or polish unless specifically recommended for the exact product. Keep fabrication records and have chips, seam movement or support concerns assessed by a qualified specialist.
