Product selection
Choosing Pebbles & Landscape Stones
Choose for the landscape
Compare size, shape, colour and whether the stones are loose decorative material or bonded sheets. Explain whether the area is a planter, pathway, water feature or decorative border. Loose rounded pebbles may be unsuitable for stable walking surfaces.
Estimate by the layout
Provide area dimensions and the intended layer depth. Confirm the quantity and edge containment with your landscaper. Approve samples wet and dry, since colour can appear different.
Installation
Installing Pebbles & Landscape Stones
Prepare the setting
Agree ground preparation, drainage and edging before spreading loose stones. Where appropriate, choose a permeable separation layer as part of the landscape design. Keep drains and inspection points accessible.
For bonded sheets
Use a compatible fixing and grouting system suitable for the stone and exposure. Check sheet joins before completing the area. Water features need a separately designed waterproofing system; decorative stones alone do not provide it.
Maintenance
Maintaining Pebbles & Landscape Stones
Keep the area clear
Remove leaves, litter and unwanted growth without disturbing the layout. Redistribute displaced loose stones and keep surrounding drains clear. Wash only using methods compatible with the stone and nearby plants.
Check bonded surfaces
Inspect grout and attachment periodically. Avoid forceful pressure washing that could dislodge pieces. Persistent algae or staining needs a treatment suited to both the material and its setting.
Care
Caring for Pebbles & Landscape Stones
Preserve the layout
Maintain edging so stones stay within their intended area. Keep loose small stones away from places where children or pets might swallow them. Choose stable accessible paths separately from decorative beds.
Plan changes carefully
Keep a matching reserve for top-ups. Do not coat stones or introduce chemicals into a pond without checking material compatibility and the needs of aquatic life. Repair displaced bonded pieces promptly.
